If you ask a students to describe Faith Lutheran High School, he or she will often discuss the family atmosphere in the building. With less than 100 students, everyone knows each other. On a typical day the atmosphere at FLHS is animated with smiling students in the hallways and energetic teachers in the classrooms.
We're a small school with Christian values, which sustains a safer environment with greater positive influences on young people. Students are also afforded greater opportunities to become actively involved in a wide range of activities ranging from athletics to Youth and Government. These types of activities help students develop stronger friendships, help their self-esteem, and help improve their academic performance. A recent study by the U. S. Department of Education revealed that students who participate in extra-curricular activities are three times more likely to have a grade point average of 3.0 or better than students who do not participate in extra-curricular activities. For these reasons, we require all students to participate in at least one extra-curricular activity. Most Faith students are involved in multiple activities.
So, when considering a high school education, we encourage you to think of the spiritual, social, and academic benefits of a small, Christian school. We believe that Faith Lutheran offers the best high school experience to young people in McHenry County. Please take time to visit or shadow a student for a day to see all of the benefits that FLHS has to offer.
